We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Research Data Scientist to join our collaborative project between the Wellcome Sanger Institute and Open Targets.

About the Role

This role involves designing foundational models leveraging multi-modal readouts, integrating and processing data from various sources to develop robust and versatile AI models.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, training, and deploying machine learning models
  • Collaborating with team members to develop and evaluate new machine learning models
  • Working with Ph.D. students and postdocs on developing solutions for interdisciplinary scientific problems in biology
  • Presenting research and analysis pipelines to internal and external audiences

Requirements include:

  • Ph.D. or M.Sc. with equivalent research experience in a relevant quantitative discipline
  • Previous ML work experience in a scientific/academic environment
  • Strong knowledge of Python, including core data science libraries
  • Expertise in machine learning algorithms and frameworks
