This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced SEN Teacher to join a secondary school in the London Borough of Newham. As an SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students with moderate learning difficulties to achieve their full potential.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced SEN Teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and committed to providing personalized support to students with special educational needs. The successful candidate will have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching students with moderate learning difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering tailored lessons to meet the individual needs of students with moderate learning difficulties.
  • Developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) that set specific, measurable, and achievable goals.
  • Working collaboratively with the SENCO, teaching assistants, and other staff members to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Monitoring and assessing student progress, adjusting teaching strategies to ensure continuous development.
  • Fostering a positive and encouraging classroom environment that promotes student engagement, confidence, and independence.
  • Working closely with parents, caregivers, and external agencies to provide holistic support to students.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching students with moderate learning difficulties.
  • A strong understanding of SEN strategies and interventions, particularly for moderate learning difficulties.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
