About the Role

The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Programme Manager to lead the development and implementation of a transformation and improvement agenda for haemophilia services in London.

As a key member of the Haemophilia Clinical Leads team, you will provide managerial leadership, coordination, and support to projects in key priority areas for haemophilia services. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing and agreeing these priority areas and leading the strategic and operational development of coherent and effective clinical network arrangements to address national and local priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the haemophilia network relationships and structure in London to enable collaboration and innovation, with support from NHS England and ICB network leads.
  • Map new gene therapy pathways and support the implementation of UKHCDO guidelines.
  • Identify opportunities for quality improvement across services to ensure all patients in London receive similar care in line with the national service specification and reduce unwarranted variation.
  • Benchmark workforce, training, and education, and develop an overarching strategy.
  • Map across pathways such as paediatrics, specialist surgical, and dental pathways.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive previous experience of working at a senior level in a commissioner and/or provider organisation in a commissioning, business management, or service development role.
  • Significant change management experience at service or organisational level.
  • Significant project and/or programme experience, involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience of working with NHS commissioning or health purchasing arrangements and contracts.
  • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary network.
  • Experience of budget management/financial management.
  • Detailed understanding of the NHS, including NHS policies and procedures relating to commissioning healthcare services and local delivery planning.
  • Emotional intelligence to deal with clinicians, managers, and commissioners with potentially conflicting objectives.
  • Ability to facilitate and manage change effectively, with strong organisational skills and ability to plan/implement effective projects and workstreams.
