R&D Director

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Group R&D Director to lead our company's R&D operations, driving innovation and product development through strategic leadership and technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement R&D strategies to drive business growth and innovation.
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver complex R&D projects on time, within budget, and to specification.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize R&D initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Drive process improvements and implement best practices to enhance R&D efficiency and effectiveness.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, partners, and stakeholders to support R&D delivery.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance staff skills and knowledge, ensuring a high-performing R&D team.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a leadership role driving R&D operations at a strategic level.
- Demonstrated success in driving departmental change through project management methodologies and IT systems that enhance R&D delivery.
- Strong understanding of fast-paced R&D design processes, ongoing engineering changes, and new product introduction (NPI), with a solid grasp of fundamental engineering principles.
- Commercial acumen, with the ability to balance priorities for maximum impact and alignment with broader business needs.
- Strong analytical, critical reasoning, and effective decision-making skills.
- Excellent collaborator with experience managing stakeholders across domestic and international operations.
- Engaging and motivating team player with exceptional communication, networking, and influencing skills.
