We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Mentor to join our team in Poole. As a Learning Support Mentor, you will provide essential support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them thrive in their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized help to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) based on their unique requirements.
  • Work closely with teachers to create fun and effective learning activities that keep students engaged.
  • Keep track of how students are doing and share updates with teachers to ensure everyone is on the same page.
  • Help students build confidence by celebrating their successes, no matter how small.
  • Create a welcoming and safe environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves.
  • Assist with classroom management to ensure a positive learning atmosphere for all students.
  • Support students in developing social skills and making friends with their peers.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children who have Special Educational Needs (SEN) is a must.
  • Excellent communication skills to build good relationships with students and staff.
  • Ability to adjust your approach based on what each student needs.
  • A real desire to help young people succeed and enjoy learning.
  • Good organisational skills to keep track of multiple students and their progress.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn new strategies for supporting students.
