Care Assistant - Margery Girling House

We are recruiting for a compassionate Care Assistant to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our customers every day at Margery Girling House. As a Care Assistant, you would be expected to embrace values of empathy, respect, and dignity as you provide essential care to individuals in need.



About the role


  • Personal care
  • Medication administration
  • Supporting people through temporary or terminal illness
  • Helping with eating and drinking
  • Light domestic duties such as bed making
  • Support with social, physical activities and mental stimulation such as hobbies and recreation


You will be warm and friendly and have a natural caring nature, great sense of humour and a positive energy that brings a smile to people's faces. You will be a great listener with a caring and supportive attitude, and you want to make a difference every day. You focus on the individual and not the routine.



About Margery Girling House

Margery Girling House is situated on the coast in Old Felixstowe. Felixstowe is an historic seaside town with many local amenities including nature reserves, cafes, doctor's surgeries and shops.

To be eligible for the £750 joining bonus, you must meet the following criteria:




  • If you have not been working in the care industry for the previous 2 years OR have come straight from education (eg, college, sixth form, apprenticeship).
  • You must be employed for a minimum of 8 hours per week.
  • The scheme must be a CQC registered provider in Suffolk.
  • You must work for at least 12 weeks with Orwell and pass this starting period to qualify for the payment
