We are seeking a skilled Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance Technician to join our team at FedEx. As a key member of our Engineering Team, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety and reliability of our fleet of vehicles and trailers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles and trailers to ensure they are safe, legal, and fit for duty.
- Complete service and inspection records, defect reports, and associated paperwork to comply with legal requirements.
- Prepare vehicles and trailers for annual MOT testing to a high standard.
- Investigate and rectify vehicle defects, ensuring the correct and effective use of tools, plant, and ancillary equipment.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards and carry out any other duties deemed reasonable by Management.
Requirements:
- Fully skilled with applicable Licenses / Vocational Training (e.g., LGV C&E licence (class one)).
- City & Guilds parts 1 & 2 or equivalent in commercial vehicle repairs.
- Knowledge of the use and operation of all automotive equipment and testing / troubleshooting equipment.
- Ability to lift and manoeuvre Heavy Vehicle Components.
- Experience with welding and basic D.C. electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Valid driving license.
- Previous experience within a similar role.
