Director of Governance

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Governance Specialist to join our team at South West London and St Georges Mental Health NHS Trust.

The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership for the Trust across all aspects of Corporate Governance, ensuring the effective implementation of governance structures and processes.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Providing wise counsel and confidential advice to the Chief Executive, Chair, and individual Board members and senior leaders on all aspects of Board business and corporate governance.
• Ensuring the Trust's corporate governance framework is sound and effective, with procedures in place to support the Trust's activities.
• Providing specialist advice to the Board on all aspects of the Trust's governance agenda, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory frameworks.
• Leading on the design, development, and implementation of the Board Assurance Framework, ensuring it adds value and provides assurance to the Board.
• Ensuring full secretarial support, advice, and follow-up action is provided for the Board, including its designated formal committees.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree and/or relevant professional qualification, with evidence of Continuing Professional Development. They will also have demonstrable experience in a senior manager role within the NHS or similar complex public sector organisation, with extensive engagement at Executive and Non-Executive Board level.
