We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cleaner Operative to join our team at Derwent FM. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our properties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Weekly cleaning of communal areas, including dusting, wiping, descaling, vacuuming, and mopping
  • Student kitchen checks and end-of-tenancy deep cleans
  • Operating cleaning machinery and cleaning up spills
  • Servicing conference rooms, moving furniture, and soft furnishings
  • Room packing, inventory completion, stock monitoring, and assisting contractors
  • Ensuring safe storage of cleaning materials and adherence to the COSHH register

About You

We are looking for an individual with experience in a similar environment, trained in the safe use of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and machinery. Essential skills include good communication, the ability to follow instructions, use technology effectively, and a customer-focused attitude.

Desirable Qualifications

Desirable qualifications include experience working with an accommodation provider, NVQ cleaning qualification, Key Skills Level 2 in English and Maths, Manual Handling and Customer Service Training, knowledge of stock control procedures, and an understanding of working in multi-occupancy buildings.
