Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom Xap Therapeutics Full time
Job Title: Research Associate

Xap Therapeutics is a pioneering biopharmaceutical company dedicated to revolutionizing genetic medicine delivery. Our innovative platform leverages CRISPR technology to engineer iPSC cell lines, which are then differentiated into universal "chassis" cells. These cells can be loaded with gene medicines, enabling the development of novel genetic therapies for a wide range of indications, including genetic disorders, cancer, and autoimmunity.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join our Discovery Biology team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and running biological cell assays, including genetic assays, pharmacodynamics assays, and in vitro-vivo translation assays. Your primary focus will be to interrogate the efficacy and safety of our cell-based delivery platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute cell culture protocols for iPSC/HSC cells and primary cells.
  • Characterize cells via flow cytometry, western blot, ELISA, and immunofluorescence.
  • Cultivate and bank cell lines and primary cells for therapeutic programs.
  • Measure cytokines using ELISA.
  • Record and analyze results, ensuring compliance with data integrity procedures.
  • Contribute to the development of new SOPs and risk assessments.
  • Adopt software, instruments, and automation to improve data robustness and meta-analysis.
Requirements
  • BSc, MSc, or equivalent experience in cell culture, immune cells, iPSC, HSC, or ESC.
  • Essential experience with flow cytometry.
  • Preferred experience with developing assays for cytokine detection or antibody measurement.
  • Preferred experience with ELISA.
  • Proven lab-based experience with protocol design, data recording, processing, and storage.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
