Main Responsibilities

As a Consultant Psychiatrist in our Community Service, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients, including assessment, investigation, diagnosis, and management. You will also provide clinical leadership within teams and contribute to service transformation programs.

You will work closely with other teams, including primary care, hospital-based teams, and community mental health teams, to ensure safe care across points of transition. Additionally, you will provide expert advice and input on the care of patients requiring detention under the Mental Health Act.

Supervision of junior doctors, medical students, and other healthcare professionals is also an essential part of this role.

About Our Service

Our Community Service provides mental health care to people living in Bolton, Manchester, Salford, Trafford, and Wigan. We offer a range of specialist services, including inpatient and community-based care, and work closely with other healthcare providers to ensure seamless care.

  • Medical Degree
  • MRCPsych or equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists

  • Approved Clinician
