At Autism East Midlands, we are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Sutherland House School in Nottingham. This is an excellent opportunity to work with children and young people with Autism and complex learning needs, providing effective interventions and support.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is equivalent to Band 7 (£43,742 - £50,056), depending on qualifications and experience. As an employee, you will also receive fully paid induction training, including autism specialist training, and the Care Certificate. We offer a friendly and supportive work environment, as well as a refer a friend scheme worth £500 and access to the Blue Light Card scheme.

Job Description

As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for working collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary team to provide effective interventions, advice, and support for children, young people, and their families/carers. Your duties will include:

  • Providing advice and training for staff
  • Assisting pupils with their functional and motor skills and supporting their sensory needs within the educational context
  • Providing therapeutic input/provision as indicated by EHC Plans and contributing to reviews
  • Managing a targeted caseload and working in collaboration with staff, other agencies, families, and carers

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a professionally qualified and HCPC registered Occupational Therapist with postgraduate qualifications and experience in SI. You should have relevant experience working with children and young people with Autism and complex learning needs, ideally within a specialist school environment.
