Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer

Gordon Murray Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of complex systems architecture for our ultra-exclusive cars.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop systems architecture for our vehicles, ensuring seamless integration of electrical and software systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver software-controlled aspects of technologically advanced vehicle systems.
  • Develop model-based understanding of systems architecture and interactions between different vehicle systems, humans, and the environment.
  • Apply systems architecture principles to support the development of electrical architecture within unique constraint spaces defined for each program.
  • Participate in analyses and reviews to ensure vehicle systems meet applicable quality, safety, security, and legal requirements.
  • Develop requirements and interface definitions for subsystems and components, ranging from simple binary functions to complex distributed functions.
  • Provide technical and project oversight for software-related developments undertaken by our technical partners and Tier 1 suppliers.
  • Participate in planning and provide guidance around network and distributed functions integration activities.
  • Employ technical management methodologies to effectively coordinate the development of components and systems with suppliers, managing risk, quality, configuration, and timing.
  • Manage engineering changes and issues that occur during the engineering lifecycle.
Requirements:
  • Significant relevant experience of systems engineering delivery within an automotive, aerospace, or e-mobility engineering environment.
  • Experience with model-based systems engineering methods, languages, and tools such as SysML, Capella, etc.
  • Demonstrable understanding of electrical architecture and underlying vehicle networks and diagnostic technologies.
  • Working knowledge of software architectures, development methodologies, test and validation strategies, and development environments.
  • Experience of project engineering with Tier 1 suppliers, preparation of project documentation and reports. Risk management, mitigation, and recovery planning.
  • Experience of delivery within lean and/or agile engineering frameworks and full product lifecycle activities.
  • Exposure to Functional Safety and Cybersecurity standards, as well as familiarity with regulatory compliance processes, would be advantageous.
  • Articulate, self-motivated, and able to work well on own initiative.
  • Possession of a Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Automotive, or similar honours degree. Other recognised qualifications combined with relevant experience will be considered.
  • Full driving license is essential and no visa or other restrictions for working in the UK or travelling in the European Union.
