We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health Specialist to join our team at Hammersmith & Fulham Council. As a Public Protection Food Safety Professional, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents and visitors.
As a Food Safety and Environmental Health Officer, you will be responsible for conducting high-risk food hygiene inspections, responding to service requests, and investigating food complaints. You will also be required to take enforcement action, accurately draft Improvement/Emergency Hygiene Prohibition notices, and monitor follow-up actions.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct high-risk food hygiene inspections, including (A and B) category.
- Carry out FHRS rescore revisits.
- Respond to service requests.
- Investigate food complaints.
- Investigate infectious disease notifications.
- Take enforcement action, accurately draft Improvement/Emergency Hygiene Prohibition notices.
- Monitor follow-up actions, checking works in progress, and ensuring necessary works have been properly executed.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have qualifications and experience in line with the Food Standards Agency Competency Framework. This may include a Degree in Environmental Health, EHRB Registered, or the Higher Certificate in Food Control. You will also need to demonstrate that you meet the Core Competency requirements of the Food Law Code of Practice and provide CPD records.
