We are currently seeking a dedicated and ambitious Pre-Contract Commercial Manager to join our expanding engineering team. This role is flexible in terms of location and offers hybrid working arrangements. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent interpersonal skills, and a solid understanding of commercial dynamics, contributing to the growth of our business.
This position will emphasize the design of both High-Speed and conventional rail infrastructure while also supporting various Product Lines as needed. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic UK team responsible for delivering projects to a diverse array of clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine contractual documents, including non-disclosure agreements, memorandums of understanding, teaming agreements, and various forms of professional services contracts.
- Identify and propose value engineering opportunities to optimize costs while maintaining quality standards.
- Collaborate with the bidding team to prepare and assess tender documentation.
- Foster open and trusting commercial relationships with internal stakeholders, joint venture partners, contractors, and end-user clients.
- Assist the Pre-Contract Commercial Team with the commercial requirements of assigned opportunities.
- Work closely with the legal team on bids, ensuring contracts are reviewed and approved before seeking final authorization.
- Evaluate project requirements and associated risks.
- Conduct commercial risk assessments of bid contract documents and their terms and conditions.
- Negotiate suitable amendments to contract documents with clients and supply chain partners.
- Support the bidding process, including negotiations for NDAs, MOUs, and various agreements.
- In collaboration with senior management, establish and implement bid and project commercial strategies.
- Facilitate the transition of post-contract responsibilities to the project commercial team, engaging with clients and partners as necessary.
- Prepare monthly commercial reports as required.
- Ensure compliance with SYSTRA's commercial processes, including change and risk management.
In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, the job holder may be required to undertake other duties as assigned by their manager.
