Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Psychologist to join our team as a Brain Injury Rehabilitation Specialist. The successful candidate will work closely with our clinical team to provide specialized support and assessment to individuals with acquired brain injuries in a prison setting.

Main Responsibilities

  • Administer the Brain Injury Screening Index (BISI) to identify individuals with potential brain injuries and develop individual support plans to address their needs.
  • Work closely with prison staff and external organizations to provide specialized support and assessment to individuals with acquired brain injuries.
  • Develop and deliver psychosocial interventions to support individuals with brain injuries, focusing on the sequelae of brain injury.
  • Provide advocacy for service users, including preparation of reports for criminal justice professionals and agencies.
  • Raise awareness about acquired brain injury and its effects among service users, prison and community-based professionals.

Requirements

  • Upper second class or first class honors degree in psychology.
  • Experience of working with individuals with complex needs and delivering 1:1 behavioral interventions.
  • Ability to communicate sensitive information in a way that addresses psychological resistance.
  • Willingness to work within a prison setting and comply with all security and confidentiality aspects of working within a secure environment.
