Short-term Intervention Specialist

Citizens Advice Mid Mercia is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Short-term Intervention Worker to join our team on a fixed-term basis. As a key member of our Short-term Intervention Service, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism who are at risk of mental health hospital admission or family/carers breakdown.
The successful candidate will work closely with our Intensive Support Team and Specialist Autism Team to deliver non-clinical interventions, ensuring the safety and well-being of our service users. You will be responsible for providing practical support, recording service outcomes, and working in accordance with shift patterns.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure adherence to contractual targets and KPIs, reporting to the Crisis Inreach Service Manager as required
- Provide practical support and ensure recording of service outcomes wherever appropriate
- Sit with service users to keep them safe and improve wellbeing whilst clinical teams mobilise and begin clinical support
- Work in accordance with shift patterns
- Work closely with the Intensive Support Team (IST) and the Specialist Autism Team (SAT)
- Dedicated time to complete individual/team development and debrief, service development, administration and reporting, and attendance at required meetings
- Experience of supporting and understanding the needs of individuals living with ASC and/or LD and their families/carers and professionals in this sector
- Ability to meet the unique needs of service users such as gender or culture
- Adaptability to environments and ability to be present in people's homes for long periods of time
- Demonstrated safeguarding knowledge and application
- In possession of a full driving licence and use of a car, or otherwise able to fulfil the travel requirements necessary
Full training and support will be provided to the successful candidate to enable them to carry out their role. However, it is desirable if high-level de-escalation techniques and strategies, as well as restraint or emergency management, positive behaviour support (PBS) has been completed prior, for example, BILD accredited, PROACT-SCIP, MAPPA, NAPPI.
