About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our Head Office Underwriting Department at NFU Mutual. As an Engineering Insurance Underwriter, you will play a key role in shaping our engineering insurance strategy and contributing to the company's growth.

Key responsibilities will include developing and implementing underwriting strategies, establishing rules and risk features, and collaborating with stakeholders to achieve growth targets and manage insurance risk.

You will work closely with our Propositions department to set parameters for growth targets and define our risk appetite. Additionally, you will be responsible for translating underwriting appetite into workable rules, processes, and communications for NFU Mutual Agents and Underwriters.

About You

We are looking for a professional with a wealth of Underwriting or Broker experience in Engineering Breakdown Insurance. You will be technically proficient, have strong communication skills, and be able to establish and maintain impactful working relationships.

Key skills and qualifications include:

  • Strong knowledge of the Engineering Insurance market and excellent understanding of factors influencing its performance
  • Negotiation skills, influencing abilities, and experience collaborating with stakeholders
  • Effective communication style and ability to present information to different audiences
  • High level of data literacy and ability to translate data into actionable insights
