Electrical Systems Specialist and Technical Lead

Job Overview:
This role is responsible for leading the electrical systems team to ensure optimal equipment performance, troubleshooting issues, implementing improvements, and ensuring seamless operation of systems and project engineering work.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with electrical systems, Siemens S5 & S7, Allen Bradley, Profinet, and associated plant, ideally with manufacturing (QA and production), maintenance, and operation, repair, and site inspection experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance strategy to minimize downtime and maximize equipment efficiency
- Evaluate and improve preventive maintenance job plans, create and update corresponding inspection job plans in coordination with the Engineering Planner
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) interrogation for plant failures, identify gaps, root causes, and propose economic ways to extend the life of plant equipment or increase mean time between failures
- Provide technical input in support of projects and plant modifications to deliver legal compliance and business integrity requirements
- Ensure management of change practices are followed for all modifications, upgrades, or project work to electrical related systems on site
- Promote the maintenance management system, applying maintenance procedures, methods, and best practices
- Assist the Engineering department in achieving its budget targets through efficient use of materials and replacement parts
- Develop and improve the knowledge and skills of engineers, fitters, and apprentices by providing training and support on electrical systems and functionalities
- Involvement with maintaining Health and Safety rules and regulations, ensuring all Safe Systems of Work are signed off and complied with, leading towards a target of zero harm for personnel and contractors
Requirements:
- BEng or MEng in a related discipline, or QBE (Qualified by Experience)
- 18th Edition
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical equipment combined with heavy industrial plant experience
- Databases, CMMS, and Project Software
