The Opportunity

A Contract Project Engineer with extensive experience in capex for pharmaceutical filling and packing equipment is required to work with our team and utilize their knowledge to define detailed requirements and collaborate with suppliers to find potential solutions.

This will progress to commissioning, qualification, and optimization of the equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop clear user requirement specifications for equipment by combining requirements from Safety, Quality, Operations, Manufacturing Science & Technology (MS&T), Engineering, and Supply functions.
  • Plan and execute project implementation to meet business deliverables, ensuring accurate up-to-date project plans are available and managed effectively with risks registered, identified & mitigation actions planned and implemented when required.
  • Take ownership of all aspects of the project through its entire lifecycle, including contractual and commercial matters, health and safety, quality assurance/control, finance, and procurement.
  • Select equipment suppliers, analyze potential options, and support equipment purchase negotiations.
  • Define accurate project budgets to ensure projects are implemented to budget and deliver expected benefits.
  • Lead the installation, qualification (DQ, IQ, OQ, PQ), and commissioning of equipment, including leadership of Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) at Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) at Dechra sites.
  • Manage resources (internal & external) to ensure project activities are completed to specification, on time & on cost.
  • Maintain effective communication channels.
  • Ensure projects are handed over to 'customers' (Operations, Quality, Engineering etc.) efficiently.
  • SUPPORTING OPERATIONS TEAMS IN TROUBLESHOOTING, DIAGNOSTICS AND ISSUE RESOLUTION.
  • Support operations teams in optimizing equipment performance.
  • Complete post CAPEX appraisals to ensure lessons learned are applied and shared appropriately.
About You

We're looking for an experienced project engineer with a proven track record in installation and commissioning of manufacturing, process, filling, packing & services equipment.

You'll need to be able to lead individual projects while coordinating with all stakeholders, have experience in project planning and implementation, and hold a degree in Engineering, Engineering-related subject, or relevant experience.

You should also be IT literate, achievement-focused, and able to work in a direct and often pressurized environment.

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and influence at all levels are essential.

Tenacity, tough-mindedness with ability to influence and demonstrate strong team working are key qualities we're looking for.

A commitment and tenacity to overcome challenges faced is also necessary.

FLEXIBILITY TO EFFECTIVELY AND EFFICIENTLY RESPOND TO AND EMBRACE CHANGES is also important.

Flexible to travel as required for supplier visits and equipment testing at OEM.

You must actively help improve the delivery and performance of new equipment for the business.

Entrepreneurial skills in terms of innovation and problem-solving are highly desirable.

Fluency in English is essential.
