Role Overview:

We're seeking a skilled Test Engineer to drive quality assurance and automation testing in our engineering team. As a pioneer in establishing our QA processes, you'll be responsible for defining and maintaining acceptance test criteria, developing and enhancing automated tests, and designing test frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Define Acceptance Criteria: Develop and maintain clear, concise acceptance test criteria to ensure the business goals and quality of features developed are met.
  2. Develop and Enhance Automated Tests: Create and maintain automated software tests using Ruby, MiniTest, and Capybara to evaluate functionality, performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
  3. Design Test Frameworks: Contribute to the design and development of our application test framework, ensuring seamless integration with our development process.
  4. Define QA Strategies: Collaborate with the development team to shape the test strategy and make decisions about processes, tools, and platforms required for the QA process.
  5. Maintain Quality Standards: Uphold and improve quality standards within the development team, ensuring the highest level of quality in our products.
  6. Collaborate with Developers: Work closely with the development team to identify and fix issues, ensuring deadlines are met and quality is maintained.
  7. Balance Automation and Manual Testing: While the focus is on automation, some manual testing will be required to ensure comprehensive coverage.
Qualifications:
  1. Experience: Minimum of 2 years in software quality assurance and automation testing, with a strong background in Ruby and test automation.
  2. Technical Skills:
    1. Proficient in writing automated test scripts using Ruby or a similar language.
    2. Hands-on experience with test automation using MiniTest and Capybara.
    3. Familiarity with full-stack application testing.
    4. Experience in non-functional testing.
  3. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical thinking, logical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
  4. Methodologies: Solid understanding of development and testing methodologies, with the ability to apply them in a real-world setting.
  5. Collaboration: Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively with application design and development teams.
  6. Adaptability: Ability to contribute to a growing team and adapt to new challenges, with a willingness to learn and grow.
