Job Title: Environmental Health Officer

We are working closely with a Local Authority in London to assist with the appointment of an Environmental Health Officer on a 3-month contract, which is highly likely to be extended at the client's discretion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement environmental health policies using specialist technical skills and knowledge to maintain and safeguard standards relating to people's health and wellbeing.
  • Carry out routine or unplanned visits and inspections to ensure compliance with legislation, taking action to improve conditions, and conducting interviews as part of the inspection process.
  • Investigate complaints from the general public and provide advice and assistance to householders and businesses.
  • Give talks at public enquiries, meetings, and exhibitions, and ensure compliance through education, advice, and enforcement.
  • Take enforcement action, initiating legal proceedings, and preparing and giving evidence in court.

Requirements:

  • Further qualification in environmental health disciplines.
  • 2 A levels and 5 GCSEs (including Maths and English).
  • Degree/Diploma in environmental health or a relevant qualification.
  • Completion of practical training.
  • Work experience in environmental health or a related field of work.

  • You should have the right to work in the UK.
