Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Credit Controller to join our team at our Hesslewood offices. As a Credit Controller, you will be responsible for managing cash flow, credit checking, and maintaining accurate credit limits and payment terms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Download cash from the bank and post in SAP (multiple currencies)
  • Effective cash collections (emails/calls/customer relationships) to minimize overdue balances
  • Liaise with internal teams to find solutions for late payments and order/deliveries blocks
  • Credit checking new Customers and performing ongoing reviews for existing Customers
  • Propose (obtain approval) and maintain accurate credit limits and payment terms
  • Follow Credit Policy, working instructions, and other Company Policies
  • Assist with month-end reporting and other ad-hoc requests

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven knowledge and experience of working in a credit control department
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, capable of building effective working/customer relationships
  • Attention to detail to ensure work is produced to a high standard and communications/notes are accurate and up-to-date at all times
  • Good planning and organization skills are required, as is self-motivation to ensure tasks are completed to deadlines set
  • A flexible 'can-do' attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt to change as business processes/systems evolve
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in English and Maths at grades C or above

Desirable Skills

  • Experience of using SAP
  • Good knowledge of MS Office (Excel)
  • Credit checking experience
  • Knowledge of Financial Accounts
  • Experience with Global customers
  • Experience of multiple currencies
  • Knowledge of payment term methods (Secured terms)
  • Credit Management or other Finance qualification (AAT)
