Job Title: Careers Advisor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Careers Advisor to join our team at Brockenhurst College. As a Careers Advisor, you will play a vital role in supporting the work of the Careers Department in delivering high-quality careers information, advice, and guidance to students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one careers advice and guidance interviews with individual learners, adhering to national quality standards and keeping accurate records.
• Support students in preparing for employment, apprenticeships, and further education, by providing guidance on CV preparation, job applications, and interview techniques.
• Facilitate group sessions and workshops to support students in their career planning and progression.
• Collaborate with the Careers Leader to plan and deliver careers events as part of the College's Careers Education Programme.
• Attend external careers events and provide impartial careers information and advice to students, parents, and employers.
• Develop and maintain the careers pages on the College's Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), including online and paper resources to support students.

Requirements:

• Educated to minimum A level or equivalent (BTEC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• IAG Level 4 or equivalent qualification.
• Knowledge and experience of offering advice and guidance to young people, with a good understanding of the range of progression pathways open to young people.
• Competent in the use of IT and Microsoft Office programs.
