Senior Director of Clinical Trials Operations

The King's Health Partners Clinical Trials Office is a collaborative initiative between King's College London, Guy's & St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. Its primary objective is to provide a unified interface for conducting clinical trials across the partner organisations, ensuring efficient processes for setup and administration.
As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will work closely with the KHP-CTO Director to provide strategic leadership to the King's Health Partners organisations. This includes overseeing the streamlined administrative function to support commercial clinical trials and the Quality Operations and Compliance function for non-commercial trials.
The post holder will play a pivotal role in modernising systems and processes, operational management of the Commercial trials and Quality teams, and acting as an expert advisor for staff across the partner organisations. You will support the Director of the CTO in setting strategy, monitoring KPIs through the development of a CTO Dashboard, and overseeing all aspects of the CTO's operational management.
Key requirements include:
- Postgraduate qualification at Masters level in a health-related discipline or equivalent experience
- Significant leadership experience, including performance and operational management of complex teams within a large and highly research-active context
- Extensive knowledge and experience of EU and UK Regulatory Frameworks for clinical trials
- High level of work organisation, self-motivation, drive for performance and improvement, and flexibility in approach and attitude
- Highly developed leadership, influencing, negotiating, and relationship-building skills
- Strong evidence of continuous professional development
- Working with the Pharmaceutical Industry on R&D and clinical trial matters
