Job Title:
Collections Management Coordinator
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Collections Management Coordinator to join our team at Eton College. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the collections management procedures, including cataloguing, auditing, internal and external loans, transport of works, acquisitions, storage, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with all aspects of collections management, including cataloguing, auditing, internal and external loans, and document maintenance
- Maintain electronic and paper documentation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Add new and amend existing catalogue records on the CollectionsIndex+ database
- Facilitate the display and use of collection objects, liaising with relevant staff and updating locations on the catalogue
- Lift and carry collections objects, adhering to handling procedures
Requirements:
- A degree in an area relevant to the role, such as Museum Studies or a related field
- Demonstrable experience in collections management procedures, including museum documentation and cataloguing
- High computer literacy, with an ability to manage information systematically and accurately
- Experience of using museum databases and understanding Spectrum standards
- A keen interest in fine and decorative art, with specialist knowledge desirable
- Manual dexterity and an understanding of handling procedures when lifting or carrying objects
- Excellent interpersonal, team, and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate ideas effectively
- Commitment to providing access to collections and collaborating with stakeholders
- Ability to work flexibly, manage multiple priorities, and respond to changing circumstances
- Good time management skills and willingness to take initiative
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum
This is a full-time position, based at Eton College, with a competitive salary range of £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including pension scheme, life assurance, and annual leave.
