We are seeking a Signalling Testing Supervisor to join our UK D&IS division.

ROLE SUMMARY

  • Oversee the pre-testing, execution, and commissioning phases of project testing, ensuring all components are evaluated safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • This position is critical for validating the signalling Control System, ensuring compliance with legal and industry standards.
  • The Test Manager will assign projects to the Signalling Testing Supervisor, who will be responsible for the testing management framework and the selection and oversight of testing personnel for assigned projects.
  • Manage the allocated testing team to ensure the successful, safe, and timely completion of tasks, while identifying training needs and ensuring mentorship is documented.
  • Report directly to the Testing Manager in the designated region and hierarchically to the Regional Centre Testing & Commissioning Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the successful management and delivery of complex signalling projects in accordance with budget and current standards.
  • Accountable for the comprehensive testing of complex signalling schemes.
  • Forecast resource requirements for project tasks to the Work Package Owner.
  • Effectively manage and motivate the assigned testing team.
  • Complete and monitor personal development plans for team members to identify training and growth opportunities.
  • Develop team members in line with IRSE competencies and conduct IRSE licence assessments.
  • Identify potential project variations and discuss with the Project Team/Tendering Department.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental regulations throughout the contract.
  • Propose process improvements and facilitate their implementation.
  • Adhere to Alstom's testing protocols.
  • Conduct risk assessments for planned activities.
  • Manage tools and equipment designated for project testing.
  • Review and approve timesheets and expense claims.
  • Document and share lessons learned with the broader community.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Strong numerical and literacy skills.
  • Experience in auditing and presenting.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Proficient in making critical decisions based on data.
  • Willingness to work shifts and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to travel as required for project needs.

Qualifications:

  • Module 1 Certification.
  • TIC Licence.
  • Valid PTS ac/dc certification.
  • Emergency First Aid Certification.
  • Manual Handling Certification.
  • IOSH Managing Safety Certification.
  • Valid driving licence.

Desirable:

  • Report writing skills.
  • Diplomatic communication.
  • Ability to analyze data effectively.
