About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Refining Consultant to join our team at KBR. As a key member of our Consulting International business, you will be responsible for providing consulting services and contributing to business development activities across the oil refining sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversight of the delivery of studies in the refining sector from pre-feasibility through to Pre-Feed, ensuring technical quality, on-time, and budget delivery.
  • Growing KBR Consulting's project portfolio and revenue in the refining sector through defining strategic direction and undertaking business development activities.
  • Interfacing with other parts of the KBR organization to grow incremental revenue from existing projects.
  • Providing technical and commercial inputs and oversight into client proposals.
  • Developing Consulting capacity and capability in the refining sector through recruitment and development of consulting team members.
  • Acting as a Subject Matter Expert within the refining sector.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Relevant number of years' industry experience with a specific technical and/or commercial focus in the Refining sector.
  • Depth of experience and knowledge in a number of the following services areas: Oil Refining overall technical understanding, Oil refining technologies, Oil refining economics and product markets, Interfaces between refining and petrochemicals, Industry competitiveness/awareness, Feasibility and configuration studies, Process design, Process operations and improvements, Project execution strategies, Direct sales experience.
  • Senior professional with strong personal drive and credibility with both internal and external stakeholders in the oil refining sector.
  • High energy individual with a desire to make a difference and offer direction to the consulting refining business and provide suggestions for improvement & recommendations.
  • Ability to undertake and support business development, project manage Consultancy projects, manage successful execution and conclusion of refining projects executed for KBR Consulting International, participate in cross fertilisation of work between KBR departments, develop and maintaining customer relationships, liaise with the Consulting Director, review project obligations, manage risks to avoid delays or reputational damage, oversee project managers, train, develop and mentor the next generation of the Consulting Refinery team.
