Job Overview

West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Sonographer to join our team as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner. This role will involve working with a high degree of autonomy and clinical decision-making responsibility, managing a complex case load and providing expertise, supervision, peer review and guidance to less experienced colleagues.

Main Duties of the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of examinations, including complex cases, and will have a significant role in teaching less experienced staff. They will also be expected to actively participate in CPD, including audit of self and peers, and to provide feedback and learning outcomes as appropriate.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a DMU or PgD in Ultrasound and will have a proven track record of working in a similar role. They will also have a detailed knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and complex knowledge of pathologies. Experience of working in a teaching hospital environment and a willingness to participate in research relevant to service development and professional needs are also essential.
