Roadway Design Engineer

Job Summary:

Mpi Inc. is seeking a skilled Roadway Design Engineer to provide roadway facility design services to clients in the Kingston or Ottawa Areas. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing functional, preliminary, and detailed design services for rural highways, urban roadways, intersections, and interchanges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop roadway facility designs, including geometric design, signing, pavement markings, and estimating quantities.
  • Prepare project documentation, including correspondence, reports, proposals, and meeting minutes.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure schedule and budget compliance.
  • Participate in steering committees and provide input to Class Environmental Assessments.
  • Conduct construction inspections and administration.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario, or eligible for registration.
  • Five years of directly related roadway design experience.
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and writing skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with geometric design of roadway facilities.
  • Knowledge of Ontario/Canadian traffic engineering standards.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, LDD, and AutoTurn (desirable).
  • Previous consulting experience an asset.
  • Valid Driver's license.
