Research Opportunities at the University of Southampton

We are seeking a talented microbiologist to join our team at the University of Southampton, a top 100 University in the QS World Rankings. As part of our ambitious plan for strategic growth in Biosciences, we are recruiting new Faculty members to contribute to our research themes in molecular and precision bioscience, cell and developmental biology, neuroscience, microbiology, plants and food security, and ecology and evolution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in the biology and mechanisms of microbial biofilms, with a focus on their structure, function, or interactions within complex microbial communities.
  • Contribute to enhancing the reputation of the National Biofilms Innovation Centre (NBIC) at Southampton as a leading and internationally recognised centre for biofilm research and innovation.
  • Lead research projects and collaborate with colleagues to achieve research goals.
  • Develop and maintain a strong research profile, including publishing research findings in top-tier journals.
