We are seeking a skilled Baker and Relief Cook to join our team at SSE Enterprise. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for baking a variety of goods from scratch and assisting with food preparation and cooking.

Key Responsibilities:

• Bake a variety of scones, cakes, and pastries, ensuring consistent quality and presentation.
• Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items and following established recipes.
• Step in as a relief cook when required, covering shifts and maintaining the same high standards in food preparation.
• General kitchen and café duties including serving, washing up, setting up, and clearing down as required.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene in the kitchen, ensuring all food safety protocols are followed.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with placing orders for baking ingredients and kitchen supplies.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a baker or in a similar role within a kitchen environment, with strong skills in baking a variety of goods from scratch.
• Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety practices, ideally within a café or food service setting.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work closely with café staff and step into different roles when needed.
• Understanding of Health & Safety, Environmental Health, and Food Hygiene regulations and a commitment to maintaining compliance.
