An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Occupational Therapist to work in a leading hospital service based in the UK. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing medium and low secure care for males and females with mental illnesses and/or personality disorders and for males with intellectual/learning disabilities.

This role requires a degree in Occupational Therapy, full BAOT membership, and HCPC registration. As an Occupational Therapist, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting patients to engage in self-care, productive, and recreational groups
  • Planning and facilitating 1:1 and group interventions
  • Working alongside the Occupational Therapist and members of the multidisciplinary team to identify patients' Occupational Needs
  • Observing, recording, and reporting patients' involvement in 1:1s and groups
  • Monitoring patients' well-being and referring any unusual physical, mental, or emotional occurrences to more senior staff and documenting as appropriate
  • Ensuring the effective, timely, and accurate updating of clinical records and computerised information systems

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in mental health and knowledge of the Mental Health Act. They will be patient-centric, committed to delivering high-quality care, and possess fine-tuned decision-making skills, excellent organisational capability, and effective communication skills.

The successful Occupational Therapist will receive an excellent salary of £34,581 per annum. This permanent full-time role involves working 37.5 hours a week. In return for their hard work and commitment, they will receive a range of benefits, including enhanced disclosure cost coverage, comprehensive induction and ongoing training, enhanced maternity pay, and up to 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
