Software Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Architect to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our Software Architectures Team, you will play a crucial role in the development of our next-generation System of Systems platforms.

• Design and develop software architectures for complex systems, ensuring they meet the required standards and procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and test software products, minimizing re-work and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues, providing clear and concise communication to stakeholders.
• Agree to and work towards project timelines, providing regular progress updates and feedback.
• Communicate effectively with team members, identifying potential risks and seeking clarification when needed.
• Participate in continuous process improvement initiatives, driving innovation and excellence within the team.

• Degree qualified in a relevant engineering field or equivalent relevant experience.
• Knowledge of the full software lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Experience with one or more programming languages, such as Java, C#, Python, or Ada.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience with software toolset development using standards such as RTCA/DO-330 or RTCA/DO-178C.
• Domain knowledge of software architectures and embedded systems.
• Experience with high-integrity software development and testing.
