About the Role:
Global Accounts Payable Manager
This is a key role within our Financial Control Team, responsible for managing accounts payable day-to-day operations, working closely with budget owners and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth buying and vendor payments process.
We're looking for a highly driven Global Accounts Payable Manager to join our team, reporting to the Procurement and Financial Operations Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing accounts payable, including invoice to pay, travel and expenses, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Leading a global AP team, providing coaching, training, and development opportunities to improve individual and team productivity.
- Ensuring systems, policies, and procedures adhere to company policies, while maintaining accuracy and timeliness.
- Identifying opportunities for continuous process improvement and implementing best-in-class systems and processes.
- Building strong relationships with internal business partners and suppliers, collaborating with the Procurement Team to achieve common goals.
- Working closely with Procurement and Financial Controllers to ensure the AP Framework is aligned with other key WorldRemit processes and controls.
- Leading procurement negotiations for new deals and renewal of existing contracts.
What You'll Own:
- Overseeing the operations of the global AP team.
- Setting business objectives for the team and providing support to achieve those goals.
- Working closely with stakeholders, including Financial Controllers, Treasury, Finance Business Partners, and budget owners, to drive the P2P agenda forward.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives and mindset, improving quality and perception within internal and external stakeholders.
What You Bring:
- Extensive accounts payable experience, with a strong understanding of finance and accounting functions.
- Excellent people management skills, with the ability to lead a global team.
- Attention to detail, with a focus on maintaining and improving controls within the process.
- Strong knowledge of finance and accounting functions, ideally with relevant qualifications.
- Experience working in an international business, with a strong understanding of foreign currency transactions.
- Continuous improvement mindset, with a focus on identifying opportunities for process improvement.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with senior management and establish good working relationships across functions and regions.
- Technology/IT skills, with a strong understanding of accounting ERPs and MS/GoogleSuite tools.
