We are seeking a skilled Pressure Systems Engineer to join our team at Tarmac. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of pressure systems equipment and supporting regulatory compliance.

Main Responsibilities
  • Implement Written Schemes of Examination, assess equipment condition, and report the outcome to the business area to comply with legal requirements and business goals.
  • Recommend repairs and advise the Engineering Manager on the restoration of "fit for purpose" condition, accept repairs, and assign inspection intervals to achieve legal compliance and business goals.
  • Provide guidance on the practical application of the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR) 2000 to inspection engineers, plant managers, and asset engineers.
  • Own and lead the implementation of a Risk-Based Assessment program for pressure systems equipment, ensuring compliance.
  • Provide pressure systems technical input in support of projects and plant modifications to deliver legal compliance and business integrity requirements.
  • Ensure management of change practices are followed for all modifications, upgrades, or project work to pressure-related systems on site.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and updates to systems, collaborating with production and engineering teams to improve system performance.
  • Have a proven track record of successful people management, management of engineering operations, delivering large-scale CAPEX projects, and managing large budgets.
  • Assist the Engineering department in achieving its budget targets through the efficient use of materials and replacement parts.
  • Develop and improve the knowledge and skills of engineers, fitters, and apprentices by providing training and support on pressure systems and functionalities.
  • Involvement with maintaining Health and Safety rules and regulations and ensuring all Safe Systems of Work are signed off and complied with, leading towards a target of zero harm for personnel and contractors.
  • Continuous review of plant availability and performance, identifying gaps, root causes, and subsequent improvement activity.
  • BOAS Accreditation is not necessary, but you will be required to complete this accredited training as part of the role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical equipment combined with heavy industrial plant experience.
