About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our client's team in Southampton. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in building a secure and scalable data platform capable of processing large volumes of data and developing digital applications handling thousands of users.

Our client is a well-established product and software business that has partnered with us to hire a Senior Software Engineer. They are a B2B company with a growing customer base and a huge scope of opportunity from a digital product perspective.

About the Team:

You will be reporting into the Head of Software Development and collaborating closely with the product team. On the Engineering team, you will work alongside Cloud Engineers, backend and front-end developers to develop an event-driven Azure-hosted data platform with the backend written in C# and Python.

About the Job:

As a Senior Software Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Advancing the development of the data platform, enhancing the ingestion process, and expanding C#-based APIs.
  • Collaborating with the product team to develop digital applications handling thousands of users.
  • Working with Cloud Engineers, backend and front-end developers to develop an event-driven Azure-hosted data platform.
  • Developing and maintaining the data platform using C# and Python.
  • Ensuring the security and scalability of the data platform.

About You:

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with experience in:

  • C# and Python programming languages.
  • React or JavaScript.
  • ORM Tools (SQL Alchemy, Django, or EF Core).
  • Unit testing (xUnit, pytest, React Testing Library, or Jest).
  • DevOps environments and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Feature flag software releases.
