About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Look Ahead Care and Support. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support to customers to help them develop the life skills they require to meet their assessed needs.

Working as part of a dynamic team, you will promote social inclusion and support customers to maximise their skills and choices. You will work in a fast-paced environment, providing a wide range of support services, including daily living activities, personal care, and emotional support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building supportive relationships with customers and creating a positive atmosphere
  • Working proactively with other team members to handle the service caseload and administrative responsibilities
  • Supporting customers to set personalised goals and develop strategies to achieve them
  • Providing support with daily living activities, including practical assistance to support customers to independent living
  • Working with customers to promote social inclusion and reduce barriers to accessing services and opportunities

About You

  • Enjoys social interaction and is able to build rapport with customers and colleagues
  • Exudes a warm and friendly presence and is able to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues
  • Prefers working as part of a team and is able to work collaboratively with others
  • Is fundamentally calm and resilient, able to manage challenging situations and maintain a positive attitude

What You'll Bring

  • A relevant qualification, such as NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent
  • Experience of working in a support role, ideally in the young people or mental health sector
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Able to work as part of a team and is able to work collaboratively with others
