Revenue Inspector Opportunity

Wokingham Borough Council is seeking a skilled Revenue Inspector to join our team. As a key member of our revenue collection team, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely billing and collection of Council Tax and Business Rates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily inspections of domestic and commercial properties to verify tax liabilities and ensure compliance with legislation.
  • Make informed decisions based on inspection findings and provide guidance to external customers on council tax and business rates legislation.
  • Monitor newly developed properties, liaise with site managers, and serve completion notices as required.
  • Ability to drive and possess a clean driving licence, with use of own car on a daily basis.
  • Deal with potentially challenging customers in a professional and courteous manner.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience in Council Tax and Business Rates.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to multi-task under pressure.
  • Compassionate, empathetic, and understanding approach to customer interactions.
