Senior Care Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team at Dalgety Bay Care Home. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in leading our care team and ensuring our residents receive the highest standard of care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate the care team to maintain a smooth running of the home.
  • Assist residents with personal care, prioritizing dignity and independence.
  • Oversee medication ordering, administration, and documentation, maintaining accurate records.
  • Engage with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and team members to ensure clear and compassionate communication.
  • Foster a positive team ethos, respecting diversity and promoting a supportive environment.
  • Welcome visitors and provide tours for prospective residents and families.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations, assess, and provide or call for assistance as needed.
  • Update care plans, risk assessments, and case notes to reflect residents' needs and wishes.
  • Attend staff meetings, training, and e-learning, taking responsibility for your own growth.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety policies, including COSHH, and escalate concerns as necessary.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: SVQ/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (essential). We also welcome applications from experienced Care Assistants working towards Level 3.
  • Medication Training: Competent in Practical Medication Administration.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team, delegating tasks effectively while maintaining a supportive environment.
  • Compassionate Nature: Kind, caring, and committed to providing person-centred care with a sense of fun.
