Principal Mechanical Design Engineer

Birmingham based role offering a salary of £58,000 - £65,000 per annum.

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our successful Building Services consultancy. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality design solutions, managing junior engineers, and working collaboratively with other teams.

The ideal candidate will have solid relevant design experience, a strong understanding of industry software such as Dialux, Amtech, and Revit, and be able to commute to the office on a hybrid basis.

  • Deliver high-quality design deliverables including drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Conduct site surveys and liaise with clients to ensure project success.
  • Manage junior engineers and technicians, checking calculations and producing detailed drawings.
  • Work effectively within multi-discipline teams to achieve project goals.
  • Prepare enquiry plans, tender reviews, and fee estimates.
