Job Title: Emotional Literacy Mentor

We are seeking a dedicated Literacy Support Assistant to join our team at Ribbons and Reeves in Barking & Dagenham. As an Emotional Literacy Mentor, you will provide 1:1 and small group literacy support to students, focusing on reading, writing, and comprehension.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have a passion for literacy and a desire to inspire young learners. You will work alongside experienced educators in a supportive and inclusive environment, collaborating with teachers, families, and professionals to tailor support to individual needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide targeted interventions to enhance academic progress and attainment.
  • Assist both inside and outside the classroom, supporting students' development and engagement.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and maintain a productive learning atmosphere.
Requirements:
  • A 1:1 or 2:1 degree in English or a related subject from a leading UK university.
  • Previous experience working with children is preferred.
Salary:

£90-£100 per day via PAYE.
