Leader Education is recruiting a SEND Learning Support Assistant to work at a specialist primary school in Billingham, catering for children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and/or Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for supporting the needs of children who require extra support, alongside some experience working alongside children with SEND.

The successful candidate will have an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, experience working alongside children with SEND in an education setting, a compassionate personality and values honesty, inclusivity, and respect. They will also have a knowledgeable understanding of safeguarding and ensuring the wellbeing of children.

As a SEND Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting pupils to access the curriculum and participate in classroom activities. You will also work closely with the teaching team to develop tailored plans to meet the individual needs of each child.

We offer competitive pay rates of £25,000 - £35,000 per annum, a refer-a-friend or colleague bonus scheme, free CPD including Team Teach, and a dedicated consultant to answer any queries for ongoing support. This is a long-term position, given a successful trial, with potential for a permanent contract after a qualifying period.
