Job Summary


We are seeking an experienced and motivated Pre Assessment Nurse to join our team at Spire Thames Valley, a state-of-the-art private hospital in Slough. As a key member of our pre-operative assessment clinic, you will play a crucial role in preparing patients for upcoming procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the assessment process.


About the Role



  • Conduct comprehensive preoperative assessments of patients scheduled for procedures, including reviewing medical history and performing physical examinations
  • Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients undergoing preoperative assessments, fostering a positive experience and building trust
  • Collaborate with medical staff to ensure patients are adequately prepared for surgery, communicating effectively and efficiently
  • Adhere to hospital protocols and standards to maintain patient safety and confidentiality, upholding the highest standards of care
  • Evaluate patient information accurately, documenting assessments and relevant medical history to inform treatment decisions
  • Cultivate effective working relationships with colleagues, prioritizing teamwork and open communication to deliver exceptional patient outcomes

Requirements



  • A qualified nurse with experience in pre-operative assessment clinics, holding a valid NMC pin with no conditions or restrictions
  • Excellent communication skills, with a keen ability to develop patient assessment, decision-making, and clinical skills
  • Computer literacy and confidence in assessing patients over the phone, leveraging technology to enhance care delivery
  • Desirable: Pre-Assessment qualification and surgical experience, enhancing your expertise and versatility as a healthcare professional
