Job Description

Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Mental Health Consultant to join our team in providing high-quality care to young people.

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled consultant psychiatrist to support the Core team in multidisciplinary assessments, risk management, and clinical interventions. The post holder will work closely with other doctors and MDT teams in community, inpatient mental health, and primary care. Key responsibilities include leadership of psychiatric services, assessment and diagnosis, risk assessment, treatment formulation, prescribing, and evidence-based interventions.

Requirements
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • GMC License to practice
  • MRC Psych (or equivalent)
  • Approval under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act
  • Approved Clinician
  • Eligibility to work in the UK

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including pension scheme, annual leave, and professional development opportunities.
