Senior Aviation Electrician

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Electrician to join our Defence contract as AGL (Above Ground Level) Electrician working on a busy live Airfield base. This role involves installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment associated with aviation and air traffic control facilities.

About the Role

As an AGL Electrician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliable operation of lighting systems on airport runways, taxiways, and other critical areas. You will be responsible for installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and maintaining AGL systems, including runway edge lights, taxiway lights, approach lights, and associated control systems.

This is a shift pattern opportunity that requires precision and adherence to strict safety standards. The ideal candidate will have experience of electrical testing, installation experience, and knowledge of City and Guilds IEE 18th Edition Regulations and City and Guilds 2391, 2394 or 2395 Testing and Inspection.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain AGL systems
  • Complete general power and lighting installations
  • Employ effective fault-finding techniques to address reactive electrical issues
  • Ensure compliance with internal and Client processes and legislation and MOD JSPs
Requirements

A recognized apprenticeship with relevant experience as a fully qualified electrician and/or an appropriate City and Guilds/NVQ in an Electrical discipline are essential.
