Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Physiologist to join our Cardio-Respiratory Unit at the Royal Hospital. The successful candidate will have a strong background in cardiology and experience in pacing procedures.

Main Responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for assisting in the running of all present services provided by the cardio-respiratory unit. This will include working with the Lead Cardiac Physiologists to deliver a high-quality, efficient service to patients and supervising, guiding, and supporting staff in the performance of their roles.

The post holder will also be expected to work as an independent practitioner in permanent pacemaker follow-up and implants. This will involve analysing, interpreting, and reporting complex clinical data, as well as undertaking necessary departmental procedures when diagnosing unexpected findings and liaising with medical staff as required.

About the Role

This is an ideal opportunity for a current band 7 seeking a change or a forward-thinking suitably qualified Band 6 looking to develop their career further. The post holder will work across the Royal, Aintree, and Broadgreen hospitals and will be expected to participate in the training and appraisal of junior staff.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have a degree in Cardiac Clinical Physiology or equivalent and will be ILS trained. They will also hold RCCP/AHCS registration or equivalent and BHRS accreditation. Managerial experience and a training for trainers assessment qualification are desirable.
