Bells of Lazonby is a family bakery with a long history of producing high-quality baked goods. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Apprentice Buyer to join our Procurement team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate looking to start their career in the fast-paced food manufacturing environment. As a key member of the team, you will provide essential support to ensure the smooth operation of the buying process. You will work closely with the procurement team, liaising with suppliers, and collaborate with a cross-functional team within the company.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the procurement manager with procurement strategy
  • Assisting with compiling and analysing data relating to purchasing activity to support decision-making
  • Supporting the procurement manager with supplier negotiations to secure best price, quality, delivery, and terms
  • Supporting on tenders, projects, implementing procedures, and running meetings
  • Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver projects
  • Supporting with monitoring and managing supplier performance, including quality and delivery

The ideal candidate will have the ability to cope with pressure and adapt to different situations. IT skills, including Microsoft office, are also essential.
