About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Youth Development Specialist to join our team at Leicestershire County Council. As a key member of our Children's Integrated Services team, you will be responsible for the effective development and delivery of youth provision in a variety of settings, including centre-based, outreach, and detached settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver high-quality youth programs that promote the active engagement of children and young people.
  • Work with colleagues across Children's Integrated Services and a range of voluntary and community organizations to ensure the joint coordination and delivery of positive activities for young people.
  • Oversee volunteers and ensure the safe use of delivery sites and provisions.
  • Plan, coordinate, and lead youth work sessions to achieve effective outcomes in various settings, including challenging environments.
  • Advocate and influence across partnerships to achieve successful outcomes for children and young people.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and early help practice in respect to children, young people, and families.
  • Work evening and weekends to meet the needs of the service.
Requirements
  • Minimum of Level 3 Qualification in Youth Work, JNC qualification in youth work, or equivalent.
  • Experience providing high-quality services for children and young people, including those at risk of anti-social behavior and youth violence.
  • Good knowledge and experience of planning, coordinating, and leading youth work sessions to achieve effective outcomes in various settings.
  • Ability to achieve successful outcomes for children and young people by advocating and influencing across partnerships.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and early help practice in respect to children, young people, and families.
  • Ability and commitment to work evening and weekends to meet the needs of the service.
