Job Title: IFRS Expert

Join Michael Page (UK) as an IFRS Expert and contribute to the development of new or amended international accounting standards issued by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) for use by UK companies.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading organization that influences, endorses, and adopts new or amended international accounting standards. As an IFRS Expert, you will be responsible for delivering allocated projects, which may include:

  • Projects to influence the IASB's development of new or amended IFRS
  • Assessing new or amended IFRS for UK endorsement
  • Carrying out research projects

You will work closely with a small technical team to develop project plans, coordinate and review team work, and engage with the international debate on IFRS proposals and decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing project plans with key milestones and clearly set responsibilities
  • Coordinating and reviewing the work of allocated project teams
  • Engaging with the international debate, including the IASB's proposals and decisions
  • Gathering evidence and assessing stakeholders' views on the project and any proposals
  • Preparing and presenting high-quality technical papers
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Good knowledge and understanding of the financial reporting environment for listed companies
  • A keen interest in IFRS
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
